How do I open my first trade? (Taker)

Opening your first trade on Bitania is simple and is designed with an imputed privacy-first approach.
As a taker, you are responding to offers that other traders have created on the platform. This guide will take you through the entire process of opening your first trade as safely and swiftly as possible.

Step 1: Review Offers​

Once you log into your Bitania account, go to the marketplace section where the different buy and sell offers will be available.

• You can filter through the available offers by:
  • Cryptocurrency of choice (XMR, BTC, LTC, ETH, USDT)
  • Payment method
  • Currency choice
• Each listing will display the trader's reputation, the exchange rate, payment method, and trade limits.

Step 2: Choose Your Offer

Take your time when reviewing offers, but make sure to check several.

• Pay attention to the trader's reputation score, the number of trades completed, and user feedback.
• Read over the terms of the offer to understand the trader's requirements and payment instructions.
• Always feel comfortable with the terms before you proceed.

Step 3: Begin Trading

After selecting an offer, click on the listing to see full details.

• Specify the amount you want to trade (in crypto or fiat as per the listing).
• The platform will automatically calculate the equivalent amount based on the exchange rate.
• Confirm the total amount, fees, and final sum before pressing “Start Trade.”

Step 4: Automatic Security through Escrow

Beginning the trade activates Bitania's arbitration bond system.

• The cryptocurrency being sold is held entirely in secure escrow.
• Neither party can access the funds until the transaction is settled or arbitration resolves a dispute.

Step 5: Follow Payment Instructions

After starting the trade, you will enter a secure trade chat window.

• Follow the payment instructions from the seller precisely.
• Make your payment via the specified method (bank transfer, P2P, cards).
• Keep all receipts and payment confirmations.
• Never give out sensitive personal credentials beyond what’s requested.

Step 6: Payment Verification

After payment is made:
